Hi Gretchen,
Thank you for the reply. Please find my answers below :
- Can we still use the WAN pathing to a distribution server set in the DMZ?
- If this is possible, then how often does the distribution server report back to the main server?
# Yes. You can place
Distribution Server under DMZ. However, you have to open certain
ports to allow communication between DS and Main Central Server.
We have concept of Relay Agent to redirect the traffic from DS
to Central Server. But this approach also comes with limitation
where any on-demand task/deployment from Central Server will not
work. All the task will be in scheduled mode.
- Will this allow us allow us all of the same functionality as the Direct connect to the main server.?
# Yes, every functionality
will work except on demand activities/deployment for those WAN
users. Every task has to be in scheduled mode where Agent will
contact and pull the task and execute.
- Do you have other US customers that have to meet strict US security compliance that we can speak with?
# For security and
confidential agreement we cannot share our customer details in
Forum and Community. You can contact our Support team via email
(support@desktopcentral.com) to check further on this.
- Can you have someone contact me about how the client LAN vs WAN works on the port and protocols for tunneling and communication with the server. (SCANS, acceptance of patches etc.)?
# Please drop mail to
'desktopcentral-support@manageengine.com' with reference
to this Forum post for detailed discussion.
Appreciate your understanding.
