You need to have a Desktop Central server installed on any machine in Local to manage the computers in LAN and WAN. It is not required you need to install the Desktop Central server in each location, you can install on any one location and access it via Web console.
In case if you want to go with distribution server setup, you need to install the Distribution server in the remote office location to manage.
