Thank you for raising the post. As of now Windows Defender updates are not supported by Desktop Central. either exceptions can be remotely added.
We support only below AV updates :
Microsoft Forefront Client Security, Microsoft Forefront Endpoint
Protection 2010 Server Management, Microsoft Security Essentials and McAfee Virusscan Enterprise
