publishing desktop central agents for users on the move

I have been reading up on a few tutorials and online articles in order to check the possibility of :

• establishing a support remote connection to a mobile ( on the move ) user
• pushing updates/ polices through desktop central agent for the same ( on the move user )

most of the online articles point out that manage engine requires a remote a server or a published IP address and has a limit to 10 users. however,
those articles were referring to remote users only.

a few other articles which made things confusing was that mobile users are refereed to as mobile hand held equipment, which was not what i was looking for.

The Question now is :
Dose anyone know how to properly utilize desktop central and achieve ( Remote connection / pushing updates, software etc ) for users on the move ?
