Pretty much as the title suggests. If We have set a Software Deployment
package to a Configuration that only deploys to a specific group in
Active Directory, when members are added to the group (Computers), they
do not ever show as targets in the Configuration. The only way to get
them to show up as a target for deployment is to go into the
Configuration and then modify it, specify the target to the same group
and save.
Two problems with this, it redeploys to machines that already have
the software part of that configuration reinstalled (which is
disruptive to people) and it is a very time consuming.
Maybe there is a better way to do what we are doing, when we image
a new machine it goes to a staging shelf that is on and always getting
updates etc. When a new machine is needed or a user has a problem
with there machine (be it virus whatnot), we get a machine from our
staging shelf, add it to groups in Active Directory for what Software
is needed and licenesed for (based on machine function, and
department it is going to, Like office, or Adobe Creative suite, or
Security Camera Software, etc.) we want to have that be able.
