I would like to throw in my vote for this as well.
This would be a welcomed feature.
We have a Configuration that contains a number of different software pieces that we deploy against new computers. The order in which they are installed on the computer does indeed appear to be unpredictable. Being able to order how software is installed would be awesome.
This applies to all Configurations as well, not just Software deployments. See post - Folder Rename Order
